Cameroon Air Force Bomb Boko Haram Base, Chase Militants Out of Country

Cameroon Air Force have bombed Boko Haram base in the far Northern part of the country following President Paul Biya’s order on Sunday.

The Nigeria terrorist group, had seized a military camp and chased over 1,000 Cameroonian soldier after killing several at the weekend.

Communication Minister, Issa Tchiroma Bakary said in a statement that members of the Boko Haram group had flee the Assighasia camp after the air strike.

He said: “Fighter planes went into action for the first time since the start of the conflict” on Cameroon’s side of the border, after several months of deadly raids on troops and civilians by Boko Haram.’’

“After two strikes and heavy fire … the assailants fled the Assighasia camp, … losing several fighters,” the minister said.

Unconfirmed reports say about 40 suspected members of the militants have were killed in the far air the air strike.
