The Nigeria Police Force Tuesday donated the sum of N500,000 to families of deceased/missing police officers in during the Ombatse Saga.
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba announced this at a meeting held at the premises of 38 Police Mobile Force – 38 PMF Squadron, Akwanga, Nasarawa State with the family members.
Abba said he regretted the loss of any officer in line of duty, adding that he feels the hurt of the affected families.
The IGP noted that the Force is doing everything possible to prevent the loss of any officer in line of duty.
He assured that efforts are being made to rescue the missing police officers.
Breakdown of the N500,000 shows that the sum of N200,000 each, came from the Nigeria Police Welfare Insurance and the Police Reward Fund, while N100,000 was donated by the office of the IGP.
