AT the commissioning of Kaduna dry port at Down Quarters, Kukuri, armed security personal brutalized journalists on lawful assignments at the venue even before the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari and his entourage for the event.
The two journalists brutalized where the Transportation correspondents of AIT/Raypower FM, Enemaku Ojochigbe and Mrs. Taye Elebiyo Edeni of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.
Also manhadled was a press unit official of the Ministry of Transportation, Mrs. Ijeoma Chijioke Adindu, who was leading the journalists.
The reporters who came from Abuja where denied access to the venue of the Commissioning of the Dry Port at Kakuri by the combined team of the army, the mobile police, the DSS and NSCDC even though they had their accreditation cards on them.
The journalists explained that they where invited by the Federal Ministry of Transportation to cover the event, but a dark tall mobile police officer personally brutalized them and cocked his gun to shoot at anyone who complained.
He also threatened to tear gas the reporters. The NAN reporter who was punched in the face by the said mobile policeman was rushed to the Red Cross mobile treatment bay where she was given an injection and treated in the eye.
The reporters sensing more danger retreated as they where denied access to the venue by the overzealous security agencies.
