600 Nigerians in Chinese Prisons, Some About to be ‘Deported’: Envoy











ABOUT 600 Nigerians are in various Prisons in Guangdong Province in China for different offences, the country’s Consul-General to the Asian nation has said.


Wale Oloko in Lagos on Monday, said the Nigerians were arrested for overstaying their visas and other criminal offences.

The Consul-General said that some of the inmates were also arrested for engaging in drug trafficking.

Oloko noted that some of the detainees were being prepared for deportation.

He appealed to Nigerians desirous of visiting any part of China to always obey the Chinese immigration and general laws when in the provinces.

He said it is not advisable for any Nigerian to overstay his or her visa in any part of the world or engage in any form of criminal act.
