Arsenal, Liverpool Record 2ND Straight Wins

PIERRE-EMERICK Aubameyang and strike partner, Alexandre Lacazette scored in each half as Arsenal recorded second straight win after beating Burnley 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Lacazette forced in a finish on the turn through the legs of goalkeeper Nick Pope in the 13th from Ceballos’ corner kick.

Ashley Barnes equalized for Burnley in the 43rd minutes before Aubameyang’s low shot inside found the back of the net in the 64th minute.

David Luiz made his debut for Arsenal after his deadline-day move from Chelsea, Newly signed Nicolas Pepe also shone after coming on as a halftime substitute for the Gunners.

In another game, Liverpool continued their 100 per cent start to the season with a 2-1 victory over Southampton at St. Mary’s.

Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino scored in each half put the Reds in control only for Danny Ings to set up a tense finale after he pounced on an error from Adrian eight minutes from time.

 In other results, Brazilian winger Bernard scored the only goal as Everton beat Watford 1-0 as Brighton and West Ham United settled for a 1-1 draw.

Aston Villa suffered fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth as New Castle United were handed a second consecutive defeat at Norwich City after being humbled 3-1 on the road.
