EXTREMISTS group, Boko Haram reportedly attacked Jiddari Polo, an outskirt of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital Wednesday.
Reports say members of the Islamist group launched the attack a few hours after President Muhammadu Buhari left the state capital.
Residents were forced to flee their homes following sporadic gunshots by the attackers, which lasted about an hour.
Unconfirmed report indicated that men of the Nigerian Army were able to, forcing the assailants to back off.
Residents claimed that the insurgents came through an entrance that was once manned by soldiers.
