Ajimobi’s Wife Accuses Gov. Makinde of Playing Politics With Husband’s Death

WIFE of late Senator Abiola Ajimobi has expressed displeasure over the negative attitude of the Seyi Makinde-led government of Oyo state towards the family of his (Makinde) predecessor.

Mrs. Florence Ajimobi accused Governor Makinde and his deputy, Rauf Olaniyan of playing politics with her husband’s death.

She said her husband never had any problem with the state government despite their different political affiliation, but alleged that the state government saw him as their enemy.

The wife of the late Governor dismissed alleged unfounded newspaper reports since the demise of her husband.

She said that Governor Makinde did not call nor send message to commiserate with the family.

“Governor Makinde never called me; I don’t know I have to send an official letter to the government to announce that my husband was ill. I never sent to Governor Fayemi, Governor Ganduje or others,’’ Mrs. Ajimobi said when the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Rauf Olaniyan visited the family.

Among other visitors were Kano State Governor, Umar Ganduje and Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi,

“Even you, the Deputy Governor, sir; I am sorry to say this. My husband has died; what anybody can do, as a God-fearing person, is to, at least, send me words of encouragement. Even after he died, not even you, Mr. Deputy Governor, could call me.

“You could have sent me a text message. I don’t have your number. I cannot just pick calls. I am a wife of a politician; I don’t pick calls that I do not know. You can send a message sir.

“Everybody is going to die; my husband is dead. He served this state for eight years; eight good years.”
