PDP Accuses APC of Plot to Obstruct Edo Election

THE Peoples Democratic Party – PDP, has accused the All Progressives Congress – APC, of planning to obstruct the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State.

The PDP said on Friday, that the APC had perfected arrangement to use Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and his counterparts from Imo and Kogi, Governors Hope Uzodinma and Yahaya Bello as instruments to perfect the plan.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party, also alleged that Ganduje, Bello and Uzodinma were selected by the APC to lead its campaign so they could start violence in Edo.

The party described the appointment of Ganduje by APC as chairman, Edo state governorship campaign council as shameful, citing the viral video in which the Kano state Governor appeared to be stuffing his robe with alleged gratification, in foreign currency.

“It is equally contemptuous that such a person is being deputized by another individual, who has become a metaphor of electoral manipulation, after being so docketed by a judgment of the Supreme Court,’’ the party said.

“It is also disgusting that a governor who deployed a Police helicopter to scare voters on election day has been mandated to deploy thugs and dangerous weapons through the northern borderlines of Edo State ahead of the election.

“Part of APC’s plot is to import election mercenaries as observers to attempt to scare the people of Edo state, suppress them and steal their mandate.
