Nigeria’s main opposition party, the All Progressive Congress – APC, has again been accused of sponsoring the dreaded terrorist group Boko Haram.
The latest allegation came from the National Publicity Secretary of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party – PDP, Olisa Metuh.
Mr. Metuh said in a statement on Monday, that the inciting utterances of APC leaders, including former Head of State and the party’s Presidential candidate in the 2015 election, General Muhammadu Buhari have fueled terrorism in the country.
The PDP said that allegations against President Goodluck Jonathan can not exonerate APC of blame for the insurgency and the continuous violence in the northern part of Nigeria.
The statement further accused APC of playing the blame game, adding that statements by their leaders prompted insurgency in the country.
More than 25 people were killed in two different explosions in Bauchi and Gombe States on Monday.
Boko Haram purportedly released a video on Sunday, showing tens of people described as ‘’infidel,’’ being shot bu gun-wielding men in a school dormitory.
