An Air Asia flight carrying 155 passengers has been declared missing by the Indonesian authority after it lost contact with air control in that country.
Reports say the flight QZ 8501 flying from Indonesian city of Surabaya lost contact with the air at 7:24 am on Sunday.
Officials said there has not been any other information regarding the status of the passengers of the missing aircraft.
According to a statement issued by AirAsia, there has been no information regarding passengers on the flight.
“At the present time we unfortunately have no further information regarding the status of the passengers and crew members on board, but we will keep all parties informed as more information becomes available,” the statement said.
The plane left Surabaya Juanda International Airport at 5:27 a.m. and was due to arrive in Singapore at 8:37 a.m., according to officials.
