BORNO –

President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed regrets over the persistent rain of terror on the people of Borno State by the Boko Haram sect.

Jonathan promised the people of the North-East region that his administration would help the state regain its lost glory as the ‘’Home of Peace and Hospitality.’’

Speaking at his reelection campaign rally in Maiduguri on Saturday, the President Jonathan assured the people of the state that the Nigerian Military would defeat the dreaded terror group.

“We will surely defeat the terror group, the Boko Haram, so that our peace loving people of the north-east and other troubled states can go about their legitimate business without any molestation,’’ the president said.

“We will return Borno to its initial slogan, the Home of Peace and Hospitality, which has been tampered with by the sect group.

On the over 276 girls abducted by the Islamist group, Jonathan said that his administration was still working towards the release of the teenagers.

“We are working towards releasing the girls so that they will be reunited with their families after being in the hands of the terror group for such a long period,” the president said.
