Stolen Voters Cards Reappear In Edo After An Anonymous Call To State REC

EDO –

Nine hundred and eighty-three (983) out of the 3,661 Permanent Voter Cards –PVC, stolen from INEC officials in Edo State last November, have been recovered, officials have said.

Edo State Resident Electoral Commissioner -REC, Mike Igini took delivery of the cards after a telephone conversation with an unnamed individual, who delivered the ‘’good news’’ to him.

“I received anonymous calls saying that they were going to return those permanent voters cards. That is good news,” Igini said.

The REC said that 661 of the PVC were from Urhonigbe North and the remaining 322 were from Urhonigbe South polling units.

Igini however, appealed to those in possession of the remaining stolen cards to return them to enable their owners the opportunity to vote during next month’s general elections.
