PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has placed an embargo on leave for permanent secretaries, chief executives of government agencies and directorate level officers in the federal public service.
The directive from President Jonathan, according to the Head of the Civil Service, Mr. Danladi Kifasi, was to ensure a smooth handing over of his administration to President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.
Kifasi, who made this known in a circular titled: ‘’Suspension of Leave” ensured that the information was passed to all the Ministries, Departments and Agencies –MDAs, of the federal government.
As a result, the head of the civil service has asked all affected officers presently on leave to resume duty immediately.
President Jonathan, whose Peoples Democratic Party –PDP, government is due to transfer power to President-elect, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress –APC, on May 29.
