DISPUTATIONS trailing the controversial Jabi Lake Mall Musical Concert which featured Naira Marley, may not be over yet, as the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola described as ‘ridiculous’ an attempt to implicate him in the matter.
The 24/7 INQUIRER reports that, in a letter of apology to the minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, the Chairman of Executive Jets Services – the airline that conveyed Naira Marley and his team to Abuja, Sam Iwuajoku, had explained that he was of the opinion that the former Lagos State Governor was the person, who needed the services of the aircraft.
The Minister on Tuesday however, reacted to Iwuajoku’s letter through a statement by his Special Adviser on Communications, Hakeem Bello. In the statement, Fashola said that he has not travelled out of Abuja since March 22.
“It is therefore ridiculous for Dr. Iwuajoku to attempt to link the Hon. Minister with any non-compliant flight,” part of the statement said.
“The decision of the Hon. Minister not to travel was taken in strict compliance with the Federal Government’s ban on inter-state travels as part of efforts to control the COVID-19 pandemic.
