NIGERIA has asked Ghana to give an “urgent explanation” on the recent attacks on apartments in the country’s High Commission in Accra.
Unidentified armed men attacked the building in Accra, the capital city on Friday, demolishing parts of the apartments being constructed.
Video clips, showing parts of the Nigerian embassy embassy being demolished in the Ghanaian capital city went viral on social media at the weekend.
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, said on his Twitter handle Monday, that the Federal Government had summoned the Chargè d’ Affaires of the High Commission of Ghana to Nigeria, Ms.over the incident.
Onyeama tweeted: “Summoned the Chargè d’ Affaires of the High Commission of #Ghana to Nigeria, Ms Iva Denoo to demand urgent explanation on the recent attacks on a residential building in our diplomatic premises and reinforcement of security around diplomatic premises and staff.”
