GOVERNOR Godwin Obasekihas presented his nomination form for re-election under the All Progressives Congress – APC, to the President Muhammadu Buhari.
Obaseki expressed his decision to represent the APC in the forthcoming governorship election when he visited Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
“Even though Buhari is a father, it would be wrong to assume or take things for granted, so I have to formally inform him,’’ the Edo state Governor told reporters.
On COVID-19, Obaseki said that over 300,000 Edo indigenes had been screen for the virus, adding that his administration aimed to have 500,000 people tested.
The Governor also promised that that he would ensure that the killers of the 100-level student of the University of Benin, Uwaila Omozuwa, were tracked and brought to justice. He described the crime as heinous.
