Umahi’s Aide Resigns Hours After Gov. Joins APC

AN aide to Governor Dave Umahi has dumped his duties just hours after the Ebonyi State number-one citizen joined the All Progressives Congress – APC, from the Peoples Democratic Party – PDP.

Egwu Chidiebere, until his resignation on Thursday, was the Special Assistant to Governor Umahi on Internal Security and Public Utilities (Urban).

In a letter addressed to the governor, Chidiebere said the decision to quit his job would take immediate effect.

“Consequently, I hereby respectfully resign my appointment as the SA on Internal Security and Public Utilities (Urban) with effect from today, 19th November, 2020,’’ part of the letter said.

“My resignation should not be misconstrued as an affront to your person, thus, but in tandem with my principle never to betray my master and anyone else.

He became the second key member after former Commissioner for Inter-Governmental Affairs, Lazarus Ogbee, to desert Umahi administration in the last few days.
