THE Federal Government will restrict international travels at the right time, authorities have said.
The Presidential Task Force – PTF, on COVID-19 said on Monday that authorities are aware of the calls to restrict international travels due to the discovery of new strains of coronavirus in some countries.
PTF Chairman Boss Mustapha however stated that the task force, as well as aviation and health authorities, including the World Health Organisation – WHO, were assessing the situation closely.
He assured that the government would take a position as soon as a cogent scientific basis was established.
Mustapha said that the protection of Nigerians remains the primary concern of the government, adding that the government would not relent in its resolve.
He said that the PTF would submit its end of the year report to President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, adding that Nigerians would be kept abreast of developments in that regard.
