RIVERS State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has downplayed insinuation that he’s at loggerheads with top officials of the Peoples Democratic Party – PDP, following his criticism of the National Working Committee of the opposition party.
Speaking with friends and political associates, who paid him a surprise visit on his birthday on Sunday night, Governor Wike said he would always speak out against perceived abnormalities in the PDP to ensure continuous existence of the party.
The Governor said in a statement that as a founding member of the PDP, he would continue to speak against whatever is militating against the progress of the party, not minding who is in charge of the NWC.
He noted that he had experienced several persecutions in his political journey, wondering if any other governor would have survived the tribulations he went through.
The Governor of Rivers State assured that would continue to stand on the path of truth to defend the interest of the state, saying anyone who is opposed to the interest of Rivers would never be considered his friend.
